2012 Retiree Shooting Schedule

Retiree’s Shooting Qualification Schedule

The following are the scheduled Retiree qualification dates for 2012.  They are all on a Friday and will start at 0900.

Retiree's will need to bring the following:  weapon, 2 mags (at least), holster and 50 rounds of ammunition (we have .40 cal for those firing their old Glock 22's for sale through the Benevolent Fund) and a check or money order for $25 (payable to COSA) on the day of their scheduled qualification. 

Please call ahead to put your name on the roster for the desired date.  You may call 210-207-6229 and speak to any of the Firearms Instructors to get put on the list. 

Also, if they have previously qualified, please inform the officer they speak with that they it will be a "re-qualification", if not have them know it is your initial qualification.

NAMES ON THE VIETNAM MEMORIAL WALL



Retiree Art Trevino sent a web link (below) which is a virtual wall of all those lost during the Viet Nam War with the names, bio's and other information on lost comrades.

It is a very interesting link, and those  who served in that time frame and lost friends or family can look them up on this site.  Pass it on to other veterans who you think would like this. 

First click on a state......then find the name by City, then click on the name.  it should show you the bio, medals and other information.

ALAMO AREA FIRE & POLICE MEMORIAL

 ALAMO AREA FIRE & POLICE MEMORIAL  www.aafpm.com This project was originally started by Bud Goeble after his son Doug Goeble (SAPD) was killed in the line of duty. He wanted to build a lasting memorial to honor his son and the other 80 law enforcement officers 24 firefighters from 18 area departments who gave their lives protecting the citizens of Bexar County. Plans are in place to raise a memorial  in downtown San Antonio to honor them and all others in the future. Your help is needed to make this effort happen. 

All donations are welcomed and appreciated to this tax deductible, 501(c)(3) non-profit cause..  Donations of $100 or more are recognized on this web site. If you donate some now and some later, they will be added together to give you credit for the total.


This will be a "living" memorial as new names will be added in the future. Your contribution today is expected to be maintained on this web site in the future.

If you go to the  web site, you will be impressed with communities’ response honor your fellow officers. Please do your part to make this happen.
